St Brigid Symbol

St. Brigid is the best-known and loved of Ireland’s female saints.  Brigid is associated with many holy wells throughout the countryside.  Her Cross, traditionally woven from reeds each 1st February, the first day of Spring, is placed over the door of the home to protect the house, a practice still common in rural Ireland.
